When you hear people Pray they like to end their prayer, “Lord, Thy will be done” or “not my will, but your will, Lord”, as if God’s Will, is some sort of mystery, and not known.
Where do they get this type of thinking?
Matthew 26:36–39 (KJV 1900): 36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. 37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. 38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. 39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
1. Is Jesus, not “GOD”
2. Does Jesus not know the Father’s Will
3. Is not Jesus and the Father, not “ONE”
Let’s look at what Jesus knew, of what was about to happen to Him when He prayed.
Matthew 26:30–35 (KJV 1900): 30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. 31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. 32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee. 33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. 34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. 35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
Jesus knew that He was about to be taken, and be beaten, whipped and Crucified. He knew what was going to happen to His flesh or “Dirt Body”. He knew that Sin had to be paid for, “Once and for ALL”
Hebrews 9:22–26 (KJV 1900): 22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. 23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
So, let me be as kind and loving as possible, as I can. People 👭 simply do not understand the Scripture or they do not know how to pray 🙏 when they pray for the Will of God. Let’s look to Scripture and see what “God’s Will Is”.
People come to Jesus, in prayer for many different reasons.
1. Health issues
2. Death of family and friends and acquaintances
3. Addictions
4. Material needs
5. Loneliness to the point of suicide
6. The list can go on and on
Yet, we never take into consideration, what God is doing in a person’s life that may have gotten them to the point of needing prayer, in the first place. Do not get me wrong, because the first thing above all thing’s, is people need Life, a personal relationship with Jesus and once we have that Life, the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit, Jesus HIMSELF, then we can pray for daily Bread, forgiveness of Sin, God’s leading, His deliverance from evil and for His Kingdom to Come, is it possible that the trials and tribulations one is going through, is that they need Life above all things on this side of Heaven, Yes or No.
Jesus tells us what His “Will Is”
1. 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV 1900): 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2. John 10:9–10 (KJV 1900): 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
3. 1 John 3:8 (KJV 1900): 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

We are so caught up, with the Troubles of this World and forget
Mark 8:38 (KJV 1900): 38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Our prayers should not be on “me, me, me” and should be on “Him, Him, Him”, if you are in the Fire, He promised to be with you, so you will not be in the Fire alone. Whether you are Saved or Not, the most important thing is that you have that Relationship, with Him. If you’re Saved He Will never leave or forsake you, if you’re Lost He Will give you the opportunity to be One with HIM. People come to the Cross and God “Jesus” for all the Wrong reasons, except for what they need the Most, “Life” and a Relationship with Him.
1. John 16:33–17:3 (KJV 1900): 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
2. 17 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
3. That we may Glorify the Father, as Jesus did, through answered Prayer, that strengthens our Faith
We do not know why we go through the many types of struggles, one is going through, We do know why God allows them, it’s so we can intimately, know Him
1. First, to know Him
2. Second, to have that intimate Relationship, with Him
1 Chronicles 16:19–36 (KJV 1900): 19 When ye were but few,
Even a few, and strangers in it.
20 And when they went from nation to nation,
And from one kingdom to another people;
21 He suffered no man to do them wrong:
Yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,
22 Saying, Touch not mine anointed,
And do my prophets no harm.
23 Sing unto the Lord, all the earth;
Shew forth from day to day his salvation.
24 Declare his glory among the heathen;
His marvellous works among all nations.
25 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised:
He also is to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the people are idols:
But the Lord made the heavens.
27 Glory and honour are in his presence;
Strength and gladness are in his place.
28 Give unto the Lord, ye kindreds of the people,
Give unto the Lord glory and strength.
29 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name:
Bring an offering, and come before him:
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
30 Fear before him, all the earth:
The world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice:
And let men say among the nations, The Lord reigneth.
32 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof:
Let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.
33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the Lord,
Because he cometh to judge the earth.
34 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good;
For his mercy endureth for ever.
35 And say ye,
Save us, O God of our salvation,
And gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen,
That we may give thanks to thy holy name,
And glory in thy praise.
36 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for ever and ever.
And all the people said, Amen, and praised the Lord.
If this was not enough, let me give you one more thing to think about “The Lord’s Prayer”
Matthew 6:9–13 (KJV 1900): Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Luke 11:2–4 (KJV 1900): Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil
So, what is God’s WILL in Heaven? It’s something we will all fully do in Heaven. We get a glimpse of it here on Earth, but is distorted by SIN on the Earth. The 2 Greatest Commandments, we will completely comply with, because we want to and are able to become of Him.
Matthew 22:35–40 (KJV 1900): 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
We try to do this on the Earth, which is impossible apart from Jesus “God”, due to the war we are constantly battling, The Flesh, The World, and Satan.
Yet, Will not be a problem in Heaven. There’s 9 essence’s of the fruit of the spirit or “Soul” we are able to do to some extent here on the Earth, But there’s 12 essences, when we partake of the “Tree of Life” and her they are
1. *Eternal Life it’s self (Note)
2. Love for Jesus “God”
3. Love for others
Which are on the Tree of Life in the New Heaven and Earth, in Revelation
Revelation 22:1–4 (KJV 1900): 22 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
(Note) Eternal Life – And you might say you have that, on this side of Heaven. Yes, but what did you do with it. The Scripture tells us to lay up our treasures in Heaven, you are not able to do that when you get there.
Matthew 6:19–21 (KJV): 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Everything you do here on Earth and that is not Heavenly, Will be burnt up like wood, hay and stubble. Yes, you might get into Heaven by the skin of you teeth, but you will miss out on all the rewards you could have had, if you would have done something, with the talents Jesus gives you on this side of Heaven, with Life He has given you. (End Note) There’s much more, then this post would be a Book
Amen and Amen
