There are Two Trees in the Garden, that are in need of attention, all other trees are just for food.
1. The tree of knowledge of good and evil
2. The tree of Life
Genesis 2:16-17 (KJV) 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
We are going to address the first tree in this Post and if you notice, The Tree of Life is not mentioned until after Adam did what he was told not to do and that was not to eat from it, if he did he would die .
It is taught by today's Preachers and Teachers of God’s Word and their reliance on Commentaries and teaching of other Founders of the faith, yet does it make it right or should we see what God actually said or do we believe blindly, that there is no intrinsic value in the fruit
? What are the Types of Fruit on the tree of knowledge of good and evil, so let me name some of the evil fruit, that is produced when guided by self or the flesh.
Galatians 5:17-21
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
These are the good fruits.
Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Now this is the war, between your Soul and your flesh, a Man that lives his life apart from God, until you become one with Jesus and are no longer under the Law and are able to in Verse 18 be led by God, then you are not under the law and the flesh has no power over you that manifest the evil fruits of the flesh and without God you try to do good but you are under the law, all because of what Adam did by eating the fruit, which brought Death- Separation from God
When you read the Commentaries and teachings of others, they will tell you that it was Adam’s Disobedience in eating the fruit that caused man to fall, then they make God a Lier by saying that, because God meant exactly what He meant all of Humanity DIED the moment Adam and Eve did what they were told not to do and that was eat the fruit of knowledge of good and evil and gaining knowledge of evil.
Genesis 3:22-24 (KJV}
22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
Now this is the problem that it is taught that Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Life since it was in the Garden of Eden, because if he did they would have lived for forever instantly, which I will cover when I Post next week the Tree of Life.
So, let us get back to the First Tree, the moment Adam and Eve ate the fruit, their eyes were opened, they gained knowledge they were not to have.
Genesis 3:9-13 (KJV) 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
See they knew they were naked, they covered themselves and when confronted started to blame someone else and not to except blame for their disobedience. Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the Serpent and the Serpent thought he was slick and was going to go unscathed, but a curse was laid on him too for doing what he did.
Now you may have a question of how can a lost individual that is not Saved, have both the Fruits of the Spirit and the Fruits of Evil at the same time. That is where the teaching of the Spirit is taught incorrectly: Adam and Eve had Two Spirits that indwell their Body in the beginning. The first Spirit is man’s Soul, his Mind, Will and Emotions all that you are. The second Spirit is God Himself, the Trinity; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, now a lost man can have Love, just look at a mother or father and what they will not do for a child they Love, even to the point of sacrificing their own life to save the life of their child: I can go on with examples of all the other good fruit and this is what happens with a person that is Lost, the Lust of the Flesh overcomes the good fruit and the more that happens, they sear their Conscience and begin to do what is right in their own eyes, even if it’s Evil.
The second spirit, which is God we receive when we get Save, Born Again and are indwelt by life and no longer under the Law: for we kill the flesh daily that Jesus can allow us to be guided by the Good Fruits, because the bad fruits no longer have power over us, unless we become like dogs returning back to his vomit and this is the good thing that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.
Is not that the greatest thing for a Believer, that the closer we get to Him the less we Sin and fully enjoy the Fruits of the Spirit, because,
John 10:10 (KJV) 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
I can write about this at length, yet this is just a Post and is just a snippet of Truth, with more to come. I must emphasize that Adam and Eve did not eat from the Tree of Life in the garden, as some believe and assume, the Two trees were not side by side and they have not come upon it yet. Because if they did they would have had Eternal Life.
