The C.R.O.S.S. an invitation to come

The Cross - C is for Come

The C.R.O.S.S.

The CROSS is an invitation to come!

Come And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. – Revelation 22:17

Receive Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. – Acts 2:38

Our (Our Thoughts are not His Thoughts)

Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV) 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Savior's But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: – 2 Timothy 1:10

Salvation Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. – Acts 4:10-12

We will go a bit deeper into the acrostic CROSS as laid out in this blog.

Come (Cross: Revelation 22:17)

Jesus invites us to Come to the Cross. He prepared a way for us to know Him, even before Genesis 1:1. Jesus knew Adam would make the wrong choice. Adam did have a choice, he just made the wrong choice. Satan too had a choice and chose wrongly, but what Jesus did for us, He did not do for the fallen angels. Satan was condemned to the Lake of Fire, a fate we all would face if it were not for the Cross. God knows who will be saved and who will not, but the choice is ours. The Holy Spirit works in our lives to draw us to the Cross, but the choice is ours. Unfortunately, most people make the wrong choice.

God created the angels first and then the world. He then transformed the world to accommodate us.

John 17:22-26 – And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

The Cross was the necessary payment for sin. The shed blood of Christ was the only thing that could redeem us:

Hebrews 9:21-28 – Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. 22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. 23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

But remember, it’s not by blood only:

1 John 5:6-8 – This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Hebrews 9:22 – And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

The blood of Jesus is needed for the payment of sin, but at the moment one believes the Spirit of God “Water” makes us one with God, we now have life because Jesus is Life.

John 3:36 – He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John 5:24 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

So the Cross means life. Once again, we are dead because of Adam, and the Spirit of God gives us Life

People come to the Cross for many reasons and yet it was created so that we may have Life not Sobriety or Wealth nor any other thing we want in this life, this world, has to offer.
