In the beginning, of the creation, the light was not the sun ☀️ we did not get the sun until the fourth day of creation, we will get to that later. God called the light good and we know that when God refers to light in Scripture that He is referring to Himself
Psalm 119:105 (KJV 1900): 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
And a light unto my path.
John 8:12–19 (KJV 1900): 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. 13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true. 14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. 15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. 16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. 17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. 18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me. 19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
You see Jesus testifies that He is the Light, you have to know Jesus through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to understand the truth of which Jesus is speaking of. He also called the light good and we know that no one is good but God.
Mark 10:17–18 (KJV 1900): 18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
God did not call the Darkness good, if you read Scripture you will find that Sin flowed into creation with the fall of Lucifer, and into this world 🌎 all the way into the creation of man, darkness always represented Evil and men loved darkness rather than come to the Light.
John 3:19–21 (KJV 1900): 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
You do not have to look far to see what men do in the dark, it has gotten so bad that they flaunt it in the streets and in our schools and on TV and in broad daylight for all to see. I am sure you know what I am talking about. Christians rather just turn a blind eye and just love love love everybody. Believe this Jesus is not going to have any problem with sending someone to Hell for rejecting HIM. What more could he do? He gave His all for us not to perish- He died so we do not have to.
2 Peter 3:9 (KJV 1900): 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Genesis chapter 1 verse 3 was a transition from pure evil and darkness, to God intervening and giving us Light that we may have an opportunity to Live in Him and by Him, until the fall of man, Adam was placed in a perfect environment and had only one commandment and he ate that of which he was told not to, which God had to cover with the skin of an innocent, the first Blood sacrifice, until the last Blood Sacrifice of Jesus Christ at the Cross.
John 8:12 above speaks of God’s Word as Light, it is where we should get all the knowledge we need to live life. Satan, the prince, and power of the air gives knowledge and that knowledge, used to travel by snail mail and word of mouth. But, now you use your smartphone to ask Siri to search anything you like, even some of the filthiest information about hate, to pornography to outright lies and spread it as truth.
The only way to combat this type of misinformation is to be filled with Truth and that is Jesus Christ-John 14:6 (KJV 1900): 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
